SUBJECT:	SARS, AIDS & OTHER BIBLICAL PLAGUES

The LORD will bring upon you and your descendants extraordinary plagues; great and prolonged plagues; and serious and prolonged sicknesses. Moreover He will bring on you all the diseases of Egypt Also every sickness and every plague, which is not written in this Book of the Law, will the LORD bring upon you until you are destroyed because you would not obey the voice of the LORD your God (Dt 28:58-62 NKJV).

Unless God intervenes, AIDS will have claimed 55 million lives on the continent of Africa by the year 2020. Now a new disease, SARS ("Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome"), is spreading across the globe (see http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A62604-2003Apr30.html.)

What is God saying to us through these plagues?

Commenting on Dt 28:58ff, John Calvin, the great 16th Century Protestant Reformer wrote:

"When God's majesty and glory are openly set before us [demonstrated by his cosmic judgments], and we do not respond with reverence and humble ourselves before Him He threatens things more terrible than before saying that our plagues shall be "wonderful" - upon parents and children

"He means extraordinary and incredible modes of vengeance which surpass the comprehension of the human mind After He has enumerated so many forms of punishment God is armed with yet other weapons to smite them

"As assuredly as His blessings are endless and innumerable, so also His power is incomprehensible for avenging the contempt of His Law As the obstinacy of men has burst forth and exalted itself more and more, so new and unheard of punishments have abounded from God, like a deluge" (Calvin, Harmony of the Law, Vol. 3).

How should Christians respond? We must Repent, Pray & Warn our fellow countrymen.

Please Join Us in Prayer for God's Mercy:

• Lord, Your Righteous Judgments have not elicited the earnest, widespread Repentance we so need in America. We refuse to acknowledge AIDS as a Heaven-sent curse. Will You now send greater Plagues, as forewarned in Scripture?
• Grant America CONVICTION OF SIN, REPENTANCE, FAITH & MERCY! PROTECT us from this horrible new disease.
  
• We intercede for all the Nations. Intervene, Lord. STOP SARS & AIDS. May millions turn for safety & salvation to Christ & the Gospel. In Jesus' Name, Amen (Ex 15:26; Nu 21:8-9; Dt 28:58-62; Ps 91: all; Jn 3:14-21).
