YOUR RESPONIBILITY TO PRAY FOR YOUR PRESIDENT! |
"...prayer was made earnestly
by the church unto God for him [Peter]." Acts 12:5
President Bush's first responsibility is the protection
of the people of this country. Likewise, as Christians your responsibility
is to pray for him - that he will have Divine wisdom guiding
his thoughts and decisions; and that he, his family and his countrymen
will be protected from the destructive plans of our devilish
enemies. We do not deserve it (see the 50 million innocent children
slaughtered by "legalized" abortion), but we can still
petition for God's mercy.
Commenting on the verse above, Matthew Henry*
emphasizes that, if you are a Christian, it is your duty to pray
for our President:
"This verse teaches, first of all, how we ought to be
affected whenever we see our brethren attacked by the ungodly
because of their testimony to the Gospel. For if we do nothing,
and are not made anxious by their dangers, not only do we cheat
them of the rightful duty of charity, but we are also treacherously
abandoning the confession of our faith
"Of course, if they are fighting for our safety, we are
failing them as well as ourselves and Christ. And the pressing
need at present is that all who wish to be counted as Christians
undertake prayer with far more eagerness than usual..."
Please Join Us In Prayer For Our
President:
Lord, in Jesus' Name, we ask You to RELEASE an urgent
Spirit of intercession throughout Your Church.
Please, Lord, PROTECT our President and his family. GIVE him
Divine wisdom. KEEP them from the evil one.
Father, we are ASHAMED of our national sins, especially the shedding
of innocent blood. But, we ask that in Your wrath, please remember
Mercy.
THANK YOU for being mindful of us and our prayers. AMEN!
*Matthew Henry was a Biblical
expositor of eighteenth century England.
** If you have agreed with us in prayer,
could you encourage us by e-mailing back with your "Amen"?
Or if you would like to add a prayer
of your own which
we can "Amen", then reply here.
Thank you.
