SUBJECT: Pledging Allegiance to a Nation "Under God"

America is rightly outraged by the decree of a liberal, three-judge panel of the 9th Federal Circuit Court in San Francisco that the Pledge of Allegiance is unconstitutional because of the phrase "under God."

**This ruling came about after an atheist father sued his daughterís school since the students recited the Pledge daily. His daughter was not required to do recite the pledge -- other judicial rulings had seen to that. But he objected to the fact that she had to hear other children say "one nation, under God."

**This ruling is part of the natural progression that has followed the failure of Christians effectively to act when, in 1962 atheist Madeline Murray OíHair succeeded in removing prayer from public schools, when, in 1963 the Bible, too, was taken out, when, in 1973 the Supreme Court declared every womanís "right" to abortion, and when, just a few weeks ago another 3 judge federal panel ruled that public libraries must make internet pornography available to their adult patrons. Christians have passively accepted many rulings during the past 50 years that were the moral equivalent of spitting in Godís eye.

**First of all, this ruling was utter foolishness. Our Declaration of Independence, itself, boldly declares Godís sovereignty over our nation. Secondly, our founding fathers repeatedly declared our nationís dependence upon God as essential to its survival. Thirdly, even skeptic Ben Franklin quoted Scripture and led delegates to the Constitutional Convention in a prayer to acknowledge that "without Godís help" they could not frame the Constitution, much less, build a nation. Fourthly, several of the original 13 states required public office seekers to affirm their faith not only in "God," but also in "Jesus Christ." Fifthly, over 223 years under the U.S. Constitution, no Supreme Court has affirmed a ruling of this nature as radical as that of the 9th Circuit Court. Far more important, God says, "The fool has said in his heart, there is no God," "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom and Knowledge," "God shall cast the wicked into hell and all the nations that forget God" (Ps 9:17; 14:all; 53:all; Pr 1:7; 9:10). This ruling did not administer justice. It was a raw act of atheistic revolution!

**Thomas Jefferson warned, "To consider the judges as the ultimate arbiters of all constitutional questions [is] a very dangerous doctrine indeed, and one which would place us under the despotism of an oligarchy" The Constitution has erected no such single tribunal, knowing that "its members would become despots." (Thomas Jefferson, in a letter to William C. Jarvis, 1820).

**Inscribed on Jeffersonís Washington D.C. memorial are his words, "God who gave us life, gave us liberty. And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are a gift from God? That they are not to be violated but with His wrath? Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just, that His justice cannot sleep forever...."

America is in the throes of Godís escalating judgments. Even now, they rage across the land. We are facing devastating tornadoes, the most destructive wildfires in history, terrorist attacks, a stock market meltdown -- yet we remain unmoved, displaying our defiance with rulings like this.

Join With Us in an Appeal to God:

--Father, CAUSE the American people, especially Christians, to RISE UP & RESIST this evil ruling & every wicked act of judicial activism. May this ruling be REVERSED. MOVE the Democrat-led Senate to confirm Pres. Bushís conservative judicial appointees. GRANT us God-fearing Judges. PURGE our system of unfit judges & politicians who have an anti-Christ agenda. In Jesus Name, Amen (Ex 18:21-23; Dt 16:17-20; Job 12:17-20; Ps 2:10-11).

** If you have agreed with us in prayer,
could you encourage us by
e-mailing back with your "Amen"? Or if you would like to add a prayer of your own which we can "Amen", then reply here.
Thank you.
