ALL-IMPORTANT IRAQI ELECTIONS

President, Troops, Credibility: Everything is On the Line

Proclaim liberty throughout all the land to all the inhabitants thereof… (Lev 25:10)

Everything is staked on the proposition that the Iraqi peoples resolve to be free will prevail over terrorist efforts to abort an Iraqi democracy. Successful elections will be a monumental victory for Iraq and freedom-loving people everywhere!

·       Candidates, election boards, Iraqi and U.S. soldiers, police and civilian workers, all who have helped move the process forward, have done so at the risk of their lives.

·       U.S. and Iraqi troops have made progress. They captured the top assassin and bomb maker in Abu Musab al-Zarqawis insurgent militia. Zarqawi, al Qaida ally and Sunni terrorist mastermind, declared ða bitter war against the principle of democracy and all those who seek to enact it” (see www.washtimes.com/national/20050125-121720-5502r.htm ).

·       President Bush and the U.S. have much to lose or gain. World antipathy toward the U.S. could be quelled or exacerbated by the election outcome. Anti-Bush Americans could similarly be assuaged or aroused. Terrorists everywhere will be energized if the elections fail. Failure could cause our fighting forces to face a more daunting, perhaps impossible, task.

In 1787, Benjamin Franklin called delegates at the Constitutional Convention to pray, hoping to break the impasse in their deliberations. He said, ð‘Except the Lord build the House, they labor in vain that build it… [W]ithout [Gods] concurring aid we shall succeed in this political building no better than the Builders of Babel: We shall be… confounded, and we ourselves shall become a reproach and bye word down to future ages… [M]ankind may hereafter… despair of establishing Governments by Human wisdom and leave it to chance, war and conquest (read Franklins speech at www.homeofheroes.com/hallofheroes/3rd_floor/god/2_convention.html ).

Americas Founding Fathers shared a common Christian worldview. Non-Christian Iraq CANNOT stop or overpower Gods intervention.
