THOUSANDS RALLY
FOR TEN COMMANDMENTS
Speeches, Caravan,
Internet Kindling Spiritual Grassfire Prayer
Oh, that they had such a
heart in them that they would fear Me and always keep all My
commandments, that it might be well with them and with their
children forever! (Dt 5:29)
Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore filed a 31-page petition with
the U.S. Supreme Court Monday, September 29, seeking to keep
the Ten Commandments monument in the rotunda of the Alabama Judicial
Building. Meanwhile, the Ten Commandments Caravan is winding
its way from Montgomery to Washington, DC, conducting rallies
in major cities along the route.
- Led by Rev. Rob Schenck and Rev. Pat Mahoney, the Caravan
will arrive in Washington on Sunday, October 5. A news conference
and prayer rally will be held outside the U.S. Capitol followed
by a candlelight prayer service outside the U.S. Supreme Court.
- On Monday, Oct 6, the day the Supreme Court reconvenes for
its fall session, another prayer rally will take place outside
the Supreme Court in the morning. Organizers are encouraging
participants to spend Monday afternoon visiting their Congressmen's
offices.
- Since the Caravan left Montgomery on September 28, thousands
of Americans along the Caravan route and elsewhere across America
have rallied to express their support of Chief Justice Roy Moore
and the Ten Commandments. Two thousand people stood for Moore
in Lufkin, Texas where Alan Keyes told supporters Moore's cause
had birthed a movement that could be transformed into a revival.
A rally is being planned in Phoenix for Monday, Oct 6.
- Hundreds were on hand to meet the Caravan when it arrived
in Birmingham, Columbia, Raleigh, Atlanta & elsewhere. Governor
Sonny Perdue of Georgia spoke in Moore's support and the North
Carolina Legislature welcomed the group.
- With a goal of collecting 50,0000 petitions urging Congress
and the Supreme Court to uphold the right to display publicly
the Ten Commandments, Grassfire.net has already collected over
250,000 signatures (see http://www.Grassfire.net
).
- Judge Moore, relieved from office for refusing to remove
the Ten Commandments Monument, is using his free time to speak
to churches & groups across the land.
Pray these rallies and speeches will be used of God to bring
America another Great Awakening!
